Hyderabad, May 13 (Maxim News): Finally, Narayanpet district in Telangana State received waters from Narayanpur reservoir in Karnataka on Monday, according to the information. The waters will be reaching Jurala project on Tuesday as Karntaka govt kept its promise of releasing 2.5 tmc waters against request for 3tmc waters from Telangana govt.
On the appeal made by Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao to cater to drinking needs of the combined Mahabub Nagar district, the Karnataka Government agreed and kept its promise. The waters reached Krishna village in Telangana and will reach Jurala to provide drinking waters in Mahabubnagar district. Thus, KCR efforts fructified with Karnataka Chief Minister Kumara Swamy recently informing him of his government’s decision to release waters to Telangana State.
The officials have first released waters from Almatti project to Narayanpur and released the same to Mahabubnagar. Initially the officials released 2,110 cusecs and increased it to 8,000 cusecs and a total of 2.5 tmc waters released to Telangana State. The waters will reach Jurala project on Tuesday. (Maxim News)
