Dispur, July 31: Bollywood actor Kartik Aaryan has donated Rs 1 crore to support flood relief efforts in Assam, where heavy rains and flooding have affected lakhs of people. The Assam Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) confirmed the contribution and thanked the actor for his support.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma acknowledged the donation through his official social media account, saying the contribution would strengthen relief efforts and provide much needed assistance to flood affected families.

According to the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA), the flood related death toll in the state has reached 78, while more than 3 lakh people remain affected.
The worst hit districts include Sivasagar, Charaideo, Golaghat, Jorhat, Nagaon, Biswanath, and Kamrup Metropolitan. Officials said around 551 villages remain submerged, and floods have damaged crops across thousands of hectares.
The state government has intensified relief and rescue operations to provide food, shelter, and other essential services to affected residents.
Earlier, actor Salman Khan, through his Being Human Foundation, had also extended support to flood relief efforts in Assam.
The Assam government continues to monitor the situation as heavy rains persist in several parts of the state.
