Kavitha Holds Strategy Talks Ahead of Municipal Elections
Hyderabad, Jan. 20 (Maxim News) Telangana Jagruti President K Kavitha on Monday held meetings with aspirants in Hyderabad, signaling active preparations by the Jagruti organisation for the upcoming municipal elections.
She reiterated earlier statements that Jagruti leaders would contest the civic polls and said detailed strategies were being discussed. Kavitha met potential candidates at her residence and reviewed poll planning, candidate selection, and campaign approach.
According to party sources, Jagruti is likely to field candidates in 20 to 30 municipal wards in Nizamabad district. Sources indicated that Jagruti candidates may contest on the Lion symbol. Ahead of the official election notification, Kavitha is reportedly considering early announcement of candidates.
In this context, Jagruti workers have begun circulating the Lion symbol widely on social media platforms. Kavitha’s decision to enter the electoral fray from her home district has drawn significant attention in Nizamabad.
The development has become a key political talking point, given her earlier role as a BRS Member of Parliament and her current political positioning. The municipal elections are expected to see a multi cornered contest in Nizamabad, with the ruling Congress aiming to consolidate power and the BJP maintaining a strong organisational presence.
Against this backdrop, Jagruti’s entry is adding a new dimension to the local political contest.
Further clarity is expected once the State Election Commission issues the formal notification and parties announce their final list of candidates. (Maxim News)
