KCR May Field Kavitha For One Rajya Sabha

Hyderabad, March 7 (Maxim News): Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao is most likely decide candidates for two seats of Rajya Sabha from Telangana State. KCR is learnt to have changed his plan and would rope in his daughter K Kavita for the Upper House in Parliament after her defeat in Lok Sabha polls.

Having done crucial exercise for balance of community level representation, the Chief Minister may unfold his mind to pick another for the Rajya Sabha. Relying on its strength of MLAs, the ruling party will easily win the two MP seats. The TRS supremo is to finalize two candidates. A related notification was reportedly issued as the schedule for selecting MPs was already given.

However, KCR has pressure from senior leaders like Kodiam Srihari, Nayini Narasimha Reddy, industrialists and his close aides. The names being heard for the same include MP from Khammam P Srinivas Reddy, who lost the polls, K Keshav Rao and others. The TRS seniors strongly feel that the Chief Minister may send his daughter K Kavitha to the Upper House to raise Telangana State voice. She may be back to limelight after her defeat in LS polls to D Arvind of the BJP.

KCR is said to be cautious as the TRS suffered a serious jolt of LS polls losing two seats of Karimnagar wherein B vinod Kumar lost to BJP’s Bandi Sanjay and Nizamabad. Given its MLAs’ strength in the State, the TRS can win the two seats unopposed. If one seat goes to P Srinivas Reddy, another may be given to either BC, SC, or ST community, sources said.

If elevation of his minister son KTR to the Chief Minister post is unavoidable, as the grapevine is, KCR may opt to Rajya Sabha if not confined to State politics. The two seats to be vacated in April on retirement of MPs are KVP Ramachandra Rao of the Congress and G Mohan Rao from TDP from Telangana and three from AP including K Keshav Rao and two others.
