KCR Permits Communal RSS March, But Not Secular Congress Rally: Uttam
Hyderabad, Dec 27 (Maxim News) : Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President Uttam Kumar Reddy said TRS Government has permitted parade by communal Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) in the city but not a rally by secular Congress party.
Addressing a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan on Friday, Uttam Kumar Reddy strongly condemned TRS Government for denying permission to the Congress party to take out ‘Save Nation, Save Constitution’ rally from Gandhi Bhavan to Dr. Ambedkar statue at Tank Bund on the occasion of its 135th Formation Day on December 28. He said police had no objection when RSS workers held a parade while their long sticks on city roads. But it was objecting to a peaceful rally with national flags proposed to be taken out by the Congress party. He said police halted the traffic from LB Nagar to Saroornagar to facilitate smooth passage of RSS parade. But it was denying permission to Congress party citing traffic and other problems, he said.
He strongly objected to the remarks made by RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat calling entire 130 crore Indians as Hindus and described it as provocative and unconstitutional. He said RSS workers created an atmosphere of fear by doing a march with sticks on city roads. He said that the Congress party was willing to conduct its programme anywhere in the city on December 28 to avoid inconvenience to the general public. However, he said police still refused to give permission.
Uttam Kumar Reddy alleged that in Telangana State, the IPS (Indian Police Service) has been transformed into KPS (Kalvakuntla Police Service). Police officials are not functioning as per rules, but as per the dictates of CM KCR. He demanded that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao give an explanation on the issue.
