KCR Slams Congress Government at BRS Silver Jubilee Event

KCR | Hyderabad, April 27 Maxim News) : Former Chief Minister and BRS president K. Chandrashekar Rao launched a sharp attack on the Congress government, alleging that a weak administration is running the state and failing to protect Telangana’s interests.

Addressing the BRS silver jubilee closing event at Telangana Bhavan on Monday, KCR said the absence of BRS MPs in the Lok Sabha was clearly felt during recent debates. He claimed that if BRS members were present in Parliament, they would have strongly defended Telangana.

KCR also criticized both the Congress and BJP, saying neither party was effectively raising Telangana issues at the national level. He asserted that no other party has the same commitment towards Telangana as BRS.

Speaking about the Telangana statehood movement, KCR said he faced several pressures during the struggle. He claimed that former Congress president Sonia Gandhi had repeatedly asked him to compromise on Hyderabad during state formation discussions.

However, KCR said he firmly rejected any proposal that separated Hyderabad from Telangana. He added that the movement succeeded only because of the uncompromising stand taken by Telangana supporters.

Referring to the 2009 alliance with the Telugu Desam Party, KCR said the tie up was aimed at making then Andhra leaders support the Telangana cause. He stated that the alliance was a strategic move for statehood.

KCR also accused the present state government of failing farmers. He said paddy procurement has become a major issue and alleged that the administration lacks clarity on governance.

Further, he criticized the government for not opening access to the giant Dr B R Ambedkar statue for visitors from other states. He said many people travel to Hyderabad to see the landmark but face inconvenience.

The BRS chief urged party workers to stay united and prepare for future political battles. He expressed confidence that BRS would regain public support in the coming days. (Maxim News)
