Kejriwal Has Approached The Delhi High Court Challenging The CBI Arrest
Delhi/Hyderabad, July 1 (Maxim News): Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday moved the Delhi High Court challenging the arrest and remand of him by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with the Delhi government’s excise policy case.

CBI has arrested CM Kejriwal, who was arrested in Bihar Jail on corruption charges related to the Excise Scam. Later, he was produced in Rouse Avenue Court of Delhi. CM Kejriwal’s name has emerged as one of the main conspirators in the case and since the investigation is still in progress, the authorities have sought permission for further custodial hearing. The court sent Kejriwal to Judicial custody till July 12. Challenging this, he went to the High Court.

It is known that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has arrested CM Kejriwal in a money laundering case related to excise policy. After that the trial court granted him bail and the Delhi High Court stayed it.

However, the Kejriwal government withdrew the policy in July 2022 after Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena recommended a CBI inquiry into allegations of irregularities in the implementation of the Delhi Excise Policy. (Maxim News)
