Kishan Is Union Minister Of State For Home Affairs
New Delhi May 31 (Maxim News): The newly inducted minister of State from Telangana G. Kishan Reddy was on Friday allotted portfolio of Union Home affairs by the President of India. He was made minister of State for Union Home Ministry following recommendation by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the President.
The office of President of India issued a press release after the allotment. Kishan Reddy was sworn in as Union minister of State at New Delhi on Thursday in Rastrapathi Bhavan. He was elected as Lok Sabha Member from Secunderabad Lok Sabha seat for the first time in his career. Earlier, he worked as MLA for three times.
Kishan Reddy will be deputy to Amit Shah, who is the cabinet minister for Home Affairs. Earlier, Ch Vidyasagar Rao was Union Minister of State for Home Affairs from erstwhile Andhra Pradesh State.
Born in Ranga Reddy district in 1960, Kishan Reddy was inspired by Lok Nayak Jayaprakash Narayan. He started his political career in 1977 as an ordinary worker in Janata Party. He served as president of BJP in the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh and national president of BJYM, BJP’s youth wing. At first, he was elected to Andhra Pradesh Assembly in 2004 from Himayatnagar constituency. He was elected twice to the Assembly from Amberpet constituency in 2009 and 2014 respectively. However, he lost the Assembly election which was held in December 2018 from Amberpet. Later, he contested to Lok Sabha polls from Secunderabad constituency and won the election. (Maxim News)
