Kishan Reddy Letter To CM Revanth Reddy On Issue Of Construction Of National Highways
Hyderabad, Mar 6 (Maxim News): Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy wrote a letter to Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy today (Friday) seeking his cooperation in resolving the problems faced in the construction of the service road under the Amberpet flyover.
Several issues were mentioned in this letter. He commented that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is paying special attention to the construction of national highways, which are very crucial for the economic development of Telangana. He said that the allocation of Rs. 1.85 lakh crore worth of national highway projects under construction across the state is a testament to the special attention of the central government on the development of Telangana.
He mentioned that 2,800 km long national highways have been constructed in Telangana since 2014. It was revealed that the construction of another 2,500 km long national highways is in various stages. Thus, including the newly formed districts in Telangana, a total of 33 districts have been connected to national highways in a short time.
This is a very great thing. In this context, with the aim of reducing traffic congestion and travel time in Hyderabad city, he reminded that the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has constructed a 1.5 km long 4-lane flyover at Amberpet Cross Road in the city at a cost of Rs. 265 crore on NH163 (formerly NH-202). He said that Union Minister Nitin Gadkari inaugurated this flyover on May 5, 2025.
He recalled that Telangana State Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and State Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar also participated in this inauguration ceremony along with him.
He said that the land acquisition required for this flyover has not been completed. He said that although the construction of this flyover has been completed and the inauguration ceremony has been completed, the construction of the service road under it has not been completed.

He said that there is an unnecessary delay due to some forces obstructing the land acquisition. He said that although this flyover was sanctioned in 2018, there were non-existent problems created and conspiracies were made to prevent the land acquisition from being completed and the construction of the service road was not allowed to be completed, and therefore, passengers traveling along this road are facing serious difficulties.
He reminded that he had informed the then CM K. Chandrasekhara Rao and the current CM Revanth Reddy about this matter several times. He said that Union Minister Nitin Gadkari himself had also informed the Telangana ministers several times.
He said that although he had brought the matter to the attention of the GHMC Commissioner and other concerned officials and tried to resolve the issue several times, the issue had not come to a conclusion. He said that even though the government had paid Rs. 2.54 crore as compensation to the beneficiaries for the land acquisition, middlemen were obstructing it.
Union Minister Kishan Reddy requested CM Revanth Reddy to personally take initiative in this matter and take appropriate steps through the concerned GHMC, State Roads and Buildings Department officials to resolve the problems faced in the construction of the service road and cooperate in the complete construction of the service road.
