Kodandaram Demands Re-Installation Of Ambedkar Statue At Punjagutta

Hyderabad, Feb.22 (Maxim News): Telangana Jana Samithi founder-president Prof. M. Kodandaram made it clear that separate Telangana State was formed due to inspiration drawn from the architect of Indian Constitution Dr BR Ambedkar.

He made these remarks while addressing an all-party round table conference held by senior Congress leader and former MP V. Hanumantha Rao on the issue of the installation of Ambedkar statue at Punjagutta circle at Somajiguda press club in the city. Speaking on the occasion, he said it was not right to remove the statue of Ambedkar from the Punjagutta circle. He alleged that the state government had forgotten the constitutional spirit in the issue. He also alleged that the state government was behaving in an undemocratic manner on the issue.

He called upon the Opposition party leaders to agitate on the issue at Delhi level if the State government did not respond on the issue. He warned the State government that they would hold agitation with 10,000 people pressing for the installation of Ambedkar statue at the same place in the State capital.(Maxim News)
