Konda Couple Submits 16-Page Complaint To AICC In-Charge Nagarajan
Hyderabad, July 3 (Maxim News): The internal strife within the Telangana Congress took a new turn on Thursday as Forest Minister Konda Surekha and former MLC Konda Murali met AICC Telangana in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan in Hyderabad. During the meeting, the couple submitted a 16-page memorandum detailing what they claimed were serious issues plaguing the State Congress unit.
This development comes just days after Konda Murali appeared before the TPCC Disciplinary Committee in response to complaints filed by former Congress MLAs from the erstwhile Warangal district. The MLAs accused Murali of making objectionable remarks and interfering in constituencies outside his jurisdiction. In retaliation, Murali lodged a counter-complaint, accusing the complainants of anti-party activities.
Internal Discord Reaches AICC
The Konda couple met Natarajan at the MLA Quarters in Hyderabad, where they reportedly detailed factional issues, internal politics, and what they allege is targeted harassment against influential leaders within the party. The couple reiterated their commitment to the Congress party’s success in upcoming local body elections.
“No Cabinet Fears,” Says Surekha
Addressing the media post-meeting, Minister Konda Surekha declined to comment on speculation regarding her possible removal from the cabinet. “I am focused on my responsibilities in the Forest Department and functioning strictly within the rules. Cabinet matters are the prerogative of the Chief Minister and the party leadership,” she said.
Murali Defends Role in Warangal Politics
Konda Murali strongly denied allegations of factional politics, asserting that public trust naturally leads people to approach responsive leaders. “Being accessible to the public shouldn’t be interpreted as interfering in other constituencies. Our focus is the welfare of the Backward Classes and the overall growth of the Congress in Telangana,” he said.
Daughter’s Political Aspirations
When asked about her daughter Konda Sushmita’s interest in contesting from Parakal, Surekha clarified that her daughter’s ambition was personal. “She is an adult and politically aware. However, we will fully respect and abide by the Congress party’s decision,” she added.
The latest escalation underlines the growing internal challenges facing the Telangana Congress, even as the party prepares for critical elections in the coming months.
