- BRS working president condemns burning of Manuguru party office
- KTR blames Congress cadres for violence in Bhadradri Kothagudem
Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K. T. Rama Rao (KTR) on Sunday expressed sharp outrage over the burning of the BRS party office in Manuguru, Bhadradri Kothagudem district. The incident, which led to widespread tension in the area, reportedly involved Congress workers who allegedly attacked and torched the local BRS office.
Soon after learning about the attack, KTR spoke over the phone with district party president Rega Kanta Rao. He assured the local BRS leadership that the entire 60 lakh-strong BRS family stood firmly by the party cadres in Manuguru and urged them to remain courageous despite the provocation. He said that the incident reflected rising lawlessness in the state since the Congress government took charge.
KTR stated, “The rule of goons and rowdiness has increased in the state after the Congress party came to power.” He accused Congress of spreading anarchy from villages to the state capital. He also announced plans to visit Manuguru soon to lay the foundation stone for rebuilding the burnt office in the same location. KTR added that BRS leaders and workers should not fear what he called “rowdy mobs” and “anarchic politics.”
Meanwhile, the situation in Manuguru turned tense earlier in the day when Congress cadres allegedly stormed the BRS party office, destroyed office furniture, poured petrol, and set the premises on fire. Some BRS activists were reportedly attacked during the confrontation. After the incident, police immediately deployed reinforcements in the area to bring the situation under control.
Congress cadres, on the other hand, claimed that their party office had been taken over and converted into a BRS office, which led to the altercation. The police remain stationed at the scene, and efforts are ongoing to restore calm in the town.
