KTR Slams Arrest of Unemployed Protesters as ‘Wicked Act’, Warns of Statewide BRS Agitation

Hyderabad, July 4 (Maxim News): BRS Working President K. Taraka Rama Rao (KTR) launched a scathing attack on the Congress-led Telangana government over the arrest of unemployed youth protesting outside the Secretariat on Thursday. He described the act as “the most evil and undemocratic action” taken against citizens simply demanding jobs promised by the Congress in its election manifesto.

Taking to social media and speaking to the press, KTR accused Chief Minister Revanth Reddy of betraying unemployed youth and failing to issue new job notifications, despite promising two lakh jobs within a year.

“Is this how you respond to the youth who believed in your promises? Detaining them before they reach the Secretariat and arresting those who came to raise their voice is not just cruel—it’s undemocratic,” KTR stated.

He reminded the Chief Minister that during elections, Revanth Reddy had organized a ‘Chair Pe Charcha’ with unemployed youth, alongside Rahul Gandhi at Ashok Nagar, pledging swift job creation and regular job calendars.

KTR also slammed the Congress government for riding on the back of job recruitment initiated by the previous BRS regime, claiming that over 60,000 job appointments made so far were already in process under BRS governance.

“Instead of issuing new job notifications, the Congress government is just completing what we started. In the past 18 months, not even 10,000 new job notifications have been released. This is nothing short of a betrayal,” he added.

Key Highlights of KTR’s Criticism:

  • Arrest of unemployed youth is “a wicked act” and a violation of democratic rights.
  • CM Revanth Reddy has failed to roll out the promised job calendar.
  • Congress has yet to fulfill its poll promise of 2 lakh jobs within a year.
  • KTR demanded the unconditional release of all detained protesters.
  • Warned of a statewide BRS-led movement if promises remain unfulfilled.

KTR accused the Congress government of “deceiving Delhi leaders” with the so-called Youth Declaration, and warned that public outrage is mounting across districts as unemployment continues to grow unchecked.

“If the Chief Minister fails to act immediately, we will rally lakhs of unemployed youth and launch a full-scale BRS agitation. We will expose this betrayal across Telangana,” KTR warned.

This marks an escalation in political tension between the ruling Congress and the opposition BRS, with unemployment now emerging as a flashpoint issue.
