Hyderabad:  The ruling BRS working President, son of Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhar Rao and Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development, IT and Industries, K.Tarak Rama Rao has appealed to the Central government to establish the proposed International Data Embassies in Hyderabad and not in one single location in Gujarat.

In a letter to Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, he cited her budget proposal which was presented in Parliament on February 1, today, he has seen that there is a proposal to establish Data Embassies in Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City) and pointed out that Gujarat was a State highly prone to earthquakes. He has given his expert advice that establishing the data embassies in such a potential risk area is a huge risk and added that Hyderabad was one of the least active seismic zones in the country, which makes it an ideal location for setting up such data centers.

KTR also said in Gujarat there is a security threat as Gujarat shares its border with another country, while Hyderabad is very safe and peaceful, he suggested that the interests of client countries should be considered while choosing the location for Data  Embassies.  He said global data center majors such as Amazon Web Services to Microsoft Azure have chosen Telangana to invest in setting up their large data centers.  He also said that the Telangana government had launched its Data Centre Policy in 2016 and offered several important incentives and approval provisions to facilitate the setting up of data centers.  Access to dual power grids, low-cost power supply, and a high-speed fiber network were a few such provisions.  he said.  (Maxim News)
