Land Oustees Give Up “Chalo Pragathi Bhavan”

Hyderabad, May 27 (Maxim News): The land oustees of Vattem reservoir from Jeegutta thanda under Timmajipet mandal from Nagarkurnool district have said there was nobody to take care of their problems despite the fact that they were agitating for the last 29 days. They said they were holding dharna in front of DJR company.

Speaking on the occasion, they demanded that the State government give compensation to them on a par with the Mallannasagar land oustees. They also said those who completed 18 years should get Rs 7.5 lakh and 250 yards double bed room house. They also demanded that rehabilitation package should be paid as one term settlement.

The land oustees made it clear that their fight would continue till their demands were met. They also held “Chalo Pragathi Bhavan” program with 600 activists on the occasion. The police rushed to the spot held discussions with them. However, they did not budge.

Later, local MLA Marri Janardhan Reddy held discussions with them and convinced them to withdraw the strike. (Maxim News)
