Langar Houz Police Arrested Bike Theft Offender

Hyderabad, May 24 (Maxim News): On 23.05.2025 at around 09:00 PM, SI Raghavendra, along with the Crime Staff, was patrolling near Bapughat, Langar Houz close to the Ramalayam Temple. During the patrol, they noticed a person moving suspiciously.

When they questioned him, he tried to escape from the spot. However, with the help of the Crime Staff, he was caught a short distance, and brought to the Langar Houz Police Station. Upon thorough interrogation, he revealed his name as Vartiya Gopal @ Tawariya and confessed to committing multiple bike thefts within the limits of various police stations. The Langer House Police recovered five stolen bikes, total Property recovered Worth Rs. 2,90,000.

The facts of the case that are on 23-05-2025 at 16:00 hours from Syed Khaja S/o Syed Yaseen, Age 38 Years, Occ: Decoration work, R/o Edi Bazar, Fathe shah Nagar, Santhosh nagar, Hyderabad,  stated that on 05-05-2025 at about 10:00 AM, he parked his Honda CB Shine motorcycle at Ramalayam Ground, Langer House, and proceeded to Moinabad for decoration work. When he returned the next day, 06-05-2025 at around 10:30 AM, he found that the bike was missing. He searched the surrounding areas but was unable to locate it and suspected that some unknown person had committed the theft. The estimated value of the stolen bike is Rs. 50,000/-. Due to being occupied with work, he approached the police station later to file the complaint and requested necessary legal action.

The bike thief, Vartiya Gopal @ Tawariya, targets busy and crowded places to steal motorcycles. He usually visits locations such as bus stops, railway stations, temples, and even areas outside wine shops and bars. He uses a duplicate master key to unlock and steal bikes, which he then sells to needy individuals at very low prices to fund his bad habits, such as consuming alcohol, toddy, and cigarettes. He has been committing these thefts in various areas, especially within the jurisdiction of the Langer House Police Station. Some of his main operating spots include the Bapu Ghat Bus Stop and other busy public places where people often leave their vehicles unattended. (Maxim News)
