Madrasa Teacher Sentenced To 20 Years In Hyderabad POCSO Case

Hyderabad, July 3: A special court dealing with offences against children has convicted a Madrasa teacher and sentenced him to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment for sexually assaulting an 11 year old boy in Hyderabad.

The court also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on the convict.

The convict, identified as Syed Nadeem, 22, was found guilty of sexually assaulting the minor at a Madrasa in the Balapur area in March 2022. According to the prosecution, he also threatened to kill the child if the incident was disclosed to anyone.

Police initially registered the case at Balapur Police Station. The investigation was later transferred to Chandrayangutta Police Station, where a charge sheet was filed before the case was subsequently transferred to Bandlaguda for trial.

After examining the evidence, the special POCSO court convicted the accused and sentenced him to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment. The court also directed him to pay a fine of Rs 10,000.
