Mahashivratri Celebrations Held In TS and AP

Hyderabad, March 11 (Maxim News): Mahashivaratri celebrations were held across Telangana State and Andhra Prasdesh in a grand manner today. The devotees of Hindu deity Shiva thronged the important temples on the occasion and performed special prayers. All the temples have reverberated with the Chants of Siva.

The prominent temples from Andhra Pradesh like Srisailam, Mallanna Kshetram, Vayu Lingeswara Swamy temple from Srikalahasthi , Amaralingeswara Swami temple from Amaravati Trikuteswara Swami temple of Kotappakonda, Mahanandi temple witnessed huge number of devotees since the early hours of Thursday . The Darshans for the devotees began from 2 am in the midnight at Srisailam temple.

On the other hand, Telangana State Endowments Minister A. Indrakaran Reddy presented special clothes at Vemulawada’s Rajarajeshwa Swami temple on behalf of the state government. He also performed special prayers on the occasion. The temple priests have handed over Prasadam to the minister after the prayers. Devotees thronged the Vemulawada temple to have the darshan of Raja Rajeswara Swami . Some devotees have alleged that the local police have harassed them in the queue lines of the temple. They alleged that the police allowed obstacle free Darshans to the family members of the officials of the district but made them stood in the queue lines for hours together . The devotees raised slogans against the police on the temple premises and vent their anger on them.

State Panchayat Raj Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao performed special prayers at 1000 pillar temple in Warangal district. The temples of the town like the 1000 pillar temple, Sideswara Swamy temple, Kuravi Veerabadhreswarudi temple also witnessed huge crowd of the devotees. The authorities of all the important temples have made special arrangements for the devotees on the occasion. They have also made arrangements for observing fasting and over night stay of the devotees. (Maxim News)
