Jakarta/Internet/Hyderabad, April 2 (Maxim News): A massive earthquake struck Indonesia in the early hours of Thursday (April 2). A magnitude 7.4 earthquake struck eastern Indonesia. One person was killed in the earthquake. Some houses were destroyed.
Waves up to 75 cm high were generated. The epicenter of the earthquake was in the Molucca Sea, 127 kilometers from Ternate Island.
The US monitoring center has issued a warning that dangerous tsunami waves are possible within a radius of 1,000 kilometers from the epicenter.
With this, the governments of Indonesia, the Philippines, and Malaysia have issued tsunami warnings. Alerted local authorities have evacuated people to safer areas. (Maxim News)
