Man accused of ‘peeing’ on a woman on Air India flight arrested
Delhi News Live Updates, Jan 7: Shankar Mishra, who has been accused of peeing on a female passenger in the aircraft has been arrested by the Delhi Police from Bangalore on Saturday. US financial services company Wells Fargo on Friday said it has sacked Shankar Mishra, saying that the allegations were “deeply disturbing”. “This individual has been terminated from Well Fargo,” the firm said in a statement.
The cold wave condition over the national capital is likely to evade over the weekend with an increase in temperature. On Saturday, the maximum temperature is likely to settle at around 18 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature could be around 5 degrees Celsius. Moderate to dense fog is likely to persist on Saturday, and dense fog and cold wave conditions are likely to abate next week. The IMD forecast indicates that shallow to moderate fog is likely over the next week, while the maximum temperature is set to return to around 22 degrees Celsius by January 12.
In other news, councillors of Aam Aadmi Party and the Bharatiya Janata Party Friday came to blows inside the House during the Delhi mayoral polls, resulting in the House being adjourned till further notification. The scuffle over the order of oath-taking soon blew up, with councillors of each party accusing the other ones of physical confrontations. The polls for the prestigious positions in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) were being held a month after the AAP ended BJP’s 15-year rule in the civic body. AAP has fielded former Delhi University teacher Shelly Oberoi as the mayoral candidate and Aale Mohammad Iqbal as its deputy mayor candidate, while BJP has nominated Rekha Gupta for the mayor’s post and Kamal Bagri of the BJP.
