Hyderabad, August 11: Jeedimetla police have registered a case against a man from Gajularamaram for allegedly viewing child sexual abuse material (CSAM) on Instagram and sharing links to such content with others.
The suspect, identified as Sanappa, came under scrutiny after his online activity was reportedly detected by a US-based child protection organization.
According to available information, the organization flagged the suspected activity through a tip line to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC).
Hyderabad Police Probe Instagram CSAM Sharing
Based on information received from NCMEC, the Telangana Cyber Crime Police began investigating the suspected online activity.
Investigators reportedly traced the suspect using his IP address and associated mobile number. The details were subsequently shared with Jeedimetla police for further action.
Following the investigation, Jeedimetla police registered a case against Sanappa and began examining his online activities.
Police are also investigating the alleged sharing of links to prohibited material and the extent of the suspect’s online activity.
No arrest has been reported so far. Further investigation is underway.
