Hyderabad, April 15: A man allegedly murdered his younger brother following a family dispute in Azampura on Wednesday morning. The incident took place near the Muslim Maternity Hospital.
According to police, the accused, Hashim Hussain, attacked his brother Safdar Hussain at around 6:40 am. He reportedly slit his brother’s throat during the altercation. As a result, Safdar died on the spot.
Officials said the brothers had ongoing disputes over family matters. Moreover, tensions had escalated in recent days. Therefore, the confrontation turned violent on Wednesday morning.
Police Detain Accused After Incident
According to Chaderghat Station House Officer Brahma Murari, the accused used a knife during the attack. Subsequently, police rushed to the scene after receiving information.
They took Hashim Hussain into custody without delay. Meanwhile, officers began an investigation into the incident.
Police are now examining the exact cause of the dispute. In addition, they are collecting statements from family members and witnesses.
