Mancherial: Couple Ends Life After Killing Daughter Due To Depression Over Son’s Death
Mancherial/Hyderabad, Oct 16 (Maxim News) : In a tragic incident, a couple died by suicide after killing their daughter, unable to bear the loss of their son, at Rajivnagar here on Wednesday.
Mancherial Town Inspector S Pramod Rao said that Bandi Chakravarthi (36), an auto-rickshaw driver, and his wife Divya (32), attempted to end their lives by consuming a cool drink mixed with pesticide after giving the same to their daughter Deekshita (10) on October 5. They were immediately shifted to a hospital in the town.
While Deekshita died on October 8, Divya succumbed on October 10. Chakravarthi also died while undergoing treatment at MGM Hospital in Warangal on Wednesday.
Police said the couple was deeply depressed following the death of their 12-year-old son Pavan due to a viral fever two months ago.
Chakravarthi and Divya had married ten years ago after falling in love. Their family members were devastated by the four deaths in just two months.
Omkar, Chakravarthi’s brother, lodged a complaint with the police. A case has been registered and investigation is on. (Maxim News)
