Mandava Agrees To Join TRS After CM Invited Him

Hyderabad, April 5 (Maxim News): Former minister and senior TDP leader from Nizamabad District Mandava Venkateshwar Rao has decided to join the TRS after a meeting with TRS supremo and Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao.

Speaking to mediapersons, Mandava said the Chief Minister had asked him to join the ruling party to strengthen it in Nizamabad district and parliamentary constituency. He said TRS supremo KCR, accompanied by party MLAs Maganti Gopinath, Puvvada Ajay Kumar and other TRS leaders, visited his residence at Gayatri Hills in Banjara Hills on Friday afternoon and invited him to join the ruling party. “I have taken a decision to join the ruling party as the Chief Minister invited me to join his party”, the former minister said.

It may be mentioned here that Mandava Venkateshwar Rao had worked in Chandrababu Naidu cabinet in the previous undivided Andhra Pradesh State. After the State bifurcation and eclipse of the TDP in Telangana, Mandava had announced his retirement from active politics a couple of years ago. With this, the TRS will get strengthened in Nizamabad segment and the TDP would lose its cadre with many joining the ruling party. Venkateshwar Rao was elected for five times to the Assembly from TDP. However, he decided to return to active politics considering his old friendship with KCR from their days of TDP. (Maxim News)
