MANUU Scholar Receives Prestigious Urdu Excellence Award

Hyderabad: Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) research scholar S. Jhansee received the prestigious Urdu Excellence Award from the Urdu Academy of Andhra Pradesh. This award recognizes her outstanding contributions to promoting the Urdu language. It marks a proud milestone for MANUU and highlights the university’s dedication to academic excellence.
Currently pursuing her PhD in the Department of Urdu, Ms. Jhansee began her research in September 2023 under the guidance of Dr. Bi Bi Raza Khatoon. The award ceremony took place during the birth anniversary celebrations of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, India’s first Education Minister after independence.
The Urdu Academy commended Ms. Jhansee’s active participation in initiatives like ‘Urdu ki Udaan’ (The Flight of Urdu), which aims to popularize and encourage the Urdu language in Andhra Pradesh. Upon receiving the award, she emphasized that “Language is not connected to religion; it is merely a bridge to culture.” She added that this award strengthens the goal of fostering communal harmony through linguistic unity.
The leadership at MANUU also expressed their congratulations. Vice Chancellor Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan and Registrar Prof. Ishtiaque Ahmed personally applauded Ms. Jhansee for her remarkable achievement. The entire MANUU fraternity joins in celebrating her success, which adds to the institution’s esteemed academic reputation.
