Many Trains Rescheduled Over Cyclone Montha

As Cyclone Montha approaches, South Central Railway and Southern Railway have taken precautionary steps by rescheduling multiple long-distance trains on October 28. These changes aim to prioritize passenger safety amid the severe weather conditions.

Several key trains have been delayed by hours. For instance, the MGR Chennai Central–Howrah Express, which was initially scheduled to depart at 07:00 hrs, will now leave at 23:30 hrs on October 28. Similarly, the MGR Chennai Central–Visakhapatnam Express’s departure has been pushed from 10:00 hrs to 23:50 hrs the same day. Other trains from Villupuram, Tiruchchirappalli, and SMVT Bengaluru have also experienced significant rescheduling, with departures delayed by several hours to avoid danger caused by the cyclone.

In addition to rescheduling, some trains have been completely cancelled. These include the Dharmavaram – Narasapur Express and Lingampalli – Narasapur Express trains scheduled for October 29, as well as the Machilipatnam – Hindupur Express, which was to run on October 28. Cancelling these trains indicates the seriousness of the situation and the railways’ commitment to passenger safety.
