Hyderabad, May 15: A 23 year old MBA student allegedly died by suicide in Bagh Amberpet after reportedly struggling with financial stress and mounting family debt taken for his sister’s wedding.
The deceased was identified as Sarath Kumar, a first year MBA student and resident of Bagh Amberpet.
According to preliminary information, Sarath Kumar’s parents, Arvind and Sandhya, had borrowed money nearly two years ago to conduct their daughter’s marriage.
Family members stated that the debt burden continued to grow as the family faced severe financial difficulties.
Sources said Sarath Kumar’s mother was supporting the family through odd jobs, while his father was allegedly addicted to alcohol and remained unemployed.
Police suspect the student was under severe emotional stress over the family’s financial condition and the inability to repay the loans.
Unable to cope with the pressure, Sarath Kumar allegedly took the extreme step at his residence.
The incident left the family in deep shock and grief.
After receiving information, police reached the spot and shifted the body for postmortem examination.
A case has been registered and further investigation is underway to ascertain the exact circumstances behind the incident.
