Medak Custodial Death: High Court Asks KCR Govt. To File Counter

Medak Custodial Death | Hyderabad, Feb 21 (Maxim News): The hearing was held in the High Court of Telangana on the death of Khadeer Khan who was injured in an attack by the Medak police.

The High Court ordered the state government to file a counter with full details on Qadir’s death.

Based on a media report on Qadir’s death, the High Court has ordered the Chief Secretary, Home Secretary, DGP, Medak SP, DSP, and SHO to file a counter on this incident. The next hearing was adjourned to March 14.

Medak Custodial Death

The Additional Advocate General told the court that Medak police had detained Qadir in the chain snatching case on January 27.

He was said to have come out of police custody on March 3. It was brought to the attention of the Court that Qadir died 14 days after his appearance in the court. Meanwhile, there were reports in the media that the police were responsible for Qadir’s death.

There were allegations of third-degree assault by the police in Qadir. The High Court intervened in this incident. The government has been directed to provide full details on this. (Maxim News)
