Hyderabad, June 8 (Maxim News): AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi demanded that Speaker of Assembly give Leader of Opposition status to his party as it emerged second largest party in the 119-member Assembly as 12 out of 18 Congress MLAs joined the ruling TRS party.
Speaking to mediapersons here, the AIMIM leader said he would call on the Speaker and request him to accord Leader of the Opposition status to his party, which has seven members in the Assembly. In this connection, Asaduddin cited the Delhi example where out of 70 members in the Assembly, three belonged to the BJP, which was accorded status of Leader of Opposition. The AIMIM leader also justified decision of 12 Congress MLAs defecting to the ruling TRS party. (Maxim News)
