Hyderabad, Sept. 16: Telangana Minorities Welfare Minister Mohammed Azharuddin on Wednesday informed the Legislative Assembly that the government has proposed establishing eight new Minority Study Circles across the state to expand access to competitive examination coaching and educational support.
The proposed Study Circles will come up in Adilabad, Mahbubnagar, Nalgonda, Hanamkonda, Nizamabad, Sangareddy, Karimnagar and Khammam.
The initiative is aimed at helping minority students access coaching closer to their home districts, particularly those who face difficulties travelling to Hyderabad for competitive examination preparation.
Hyderabad Study Circle Has 776 Students
Responding to questions raised by Karwan MLA Kausar Mohiuddin, Azharuddin said the Hyderabad Minority Study Circle, which was earlier functioning from a private building, had been shifted to a government building after the Congress government came to power.
He said the new facility was recently launched with basic infrastructure and provisions for introducing additional courses. The government is also working towards providing hostel facilities for students, he added.

Azharuddin said the government would complete the proposed district Study Circles at the earliest. He informed the House that the current budget allocation for the Study Circle is ₹4 crore and would be increased as additional centres are established.
The Minister said 776 students are currently enrolled in various programmes at the Hyderabad Study Circle. The enrolment includes 100 students in UPSC coaching, 153 in IELTS, 16 in AEE, 20 in the Basic Foundation Course, 310 in Constable coaching and 177 in Police Sub-Inspector coaching.
Meanwhile, Sirpur/Kagaznagar MLA Palvai Harish Babu raised issues concerning two Telangana Minority Residential Educational Institutions Society (TMREIS) schools in Kagaznagar.
The MLA sought information on the appointment of regular staff and raised concerns over employee availability and administrative supervision at the schools. He also highlighted the presence of dumping yards near the institutions and sought government intervention.
Harish Babu further requested that an existing ITI building in Kagaznagar be converted into an Advanced Training Centre (ATC) to benefit minority students.
Responding to the concerns, Azharuddin assured the House that regular staff would be appointed at the earliest. He also said the suggestions raised by the MLAs would be examined.
Regarding the Kagaznagar issues, the Minister said he would visit the area in consultation with the MLA and personally review the concerns at a convenient date and time.
