Minor Girl Raped In Asifabad: Students, Locals Stage Dharna
Kumram Bheem Asifabad/Hyderabad, Sept 28 (Maxim News): Students and locals staged a rasta-roko on NH-363 demanding action against a person who allegedly raped a minor student at Buruguguda village in Asifabad mandal on Saturday.
Students from a Zilla Parishad High School, parents of the victim, and residents of Buguruguda village blocked traffic on the Mancherial-Chandrapur highway for a while seeking justice and demanding action against the perpetrator.
They raised slogans against the culprit. They wanted police to take stringent action against him by booking a case at the earliest. However, they withdrew the protest when the police assured them of action.
Police said that a Class VIII student from the school and the village was allegedly raped by a neighbor by locking her in a house on Friday. The accused person was in an inebriated condition. Some neighbors informed the police about the incident. A case was registered against the neighbor. Investigations were already taken up. (Maxim News)
