Hyderabad, Mar 10 (Maxim News): Several Muslim minority leaders of the Congress Party staged a dharna outside Gandhi Bhavan around 2 AM on Monday, accusing the party of sidelining the community. They expressed outrage over the exclusion of Muslim candidates from the party’s MLC candidate list.
The protesting leaders said that despite the Muslim population crossing 14 percent in the state, the party has failed to give a single MLC ticket to a Muslim candidate. Later, police detained the protesting Congress leaders and shifted them to Begum Bazaar and Musheerabad police stations. (Maxim News)
