Hyderabad, July 7: Miyapur police arrested a woman for allegedly murdering her husband with the help of her boyfriend and burying his body near the Maharashtra border. The case came to light seven months after she reported her husband missing.
According to the police, the woman filed a missing person complaint in November last year, claiming that her husband had disappeared. However, investigators uncovered the alleged murder during a detailed probe.
Police examined the woman’s call records and CCTV footage. The investigation revealed that she had allegedly conspired with her boyfriend to kill her husband.
The deceased was identified as Venkatesh, 45. Police said the accused transported his body to the Maharashtra border and buried it. Later, the body was recovered with the help of the local police.
During questioning, the woman allegedly confessed to the crime. She told investigators that she killed Venkatesh because he had become an obstacle to her relationship with her boyfriend.
Police have taken the woman into custody. Meanwhile, teams have launched a search to trace and arrest her boyfriend, who remains absconding. Further investigation is underway.
