Mobile Dental Treatment Van inaugurated
Secunderabad, 16 March, (Maxim News): Army College of Dental Sciences (ACDS) Mobile Dental Treatment Van was inaugurated by Lieutenant General A Arun, Patron ACDS, General Officer Commanding, Dakshin Bharat Area at Wellness Centre, Secunderabad today.
Officiating Chairman of ACDS Brigadier Abhijit Chandra, Dr KV Ramana Reddy Principal ACDS, faculty and students of ACDS were present on the occasion.
The Mobile Dental Treatment Van was donated to the Indian Army as a part of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative by Punjab National Bank. The fructification of the project was possible due to the initiative of GOC TASA Major General RK Singh and the all-round efforts of the Army Channel’s and excellent team work involving the faculty of ACDS, the officials from the EME Centre, the PNB officials.
An impressive ceremony was held where the keys were handed over by Mr Ashutosh Choudhary, General Manager and Zonal Head of PNB (AP, Telangana & Karnataka) to Lieutenant General A Arun, Patron ACDS.
The briefing and tour of the van was done by Dr VVN Sunil faculty ACDS to the guests and the visiting officials. The Mobile Dental Treatment Van is fully air conditioned with GPS tracking, in-house x-ray, autoclave, lit cure unit and ultrasonic scaling machine with backup power generator and provision for patient waiting and television for patient counselling and education.
The dental van will be used for providing the dental services to the schools, orphanages, old age homes, senior citizens and villagers. The Dental Van will also be used for oral cancer prevention, education and screening as it is one of the major non communicable diseases affecting the Indian sub-continent.
