Mohammed Lateef Khan Honoured with Maulana Abul Kalam Azad National Award 2025
Hyderabad: The Government of Telangana has honoured eminent educationist and Founder-Chairman of MS Education Academy, Mohammed Lateef Khan, with the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad National Award 2025 for his outstanding contributions to education, social welfare, and minority empowerment.
The award was presented by Minority Welfare Minister Mohammed Azharuddin during a grand ceremony organized by the Telangana Urdu Academy at Ravindra Bharathi, Hyderabad, on the occasion of National Education Day.
The Maulana Abul Kalam Azad National Award is one of Telangana’s most prestigious honours, presented annually to individuals who have made exceptional contributions to education, Urdu language and literature, and social service. This year’s event also recognized the awardees for 2024 and 2025.
Mr. Lateef Khan received a cash prize of ₹2,25,000, along with a citation and memento. For more than three decades, he has worked to make value-based, affordable education accessible to all, especially for students from marginalized communities. Under his leadership, MS Education Academy has grown into a movement for educational and social transformation, empowering thousands of youth and women.
Some of his key initiatives include the MS IAS Academy for Civil Services aspirants, Lateefi 40 for IIT and medical entrance coaching, the Zaibus Skill Development Centre for widows’ empowerment, and the MS Adventure Park, which promotes leadership, innovation, and startup culture among students.
Expressing gratitude, Mr. Lateef Khan said,
“My next goal is to make quality education affordable for every student. Education should not be a privilege — it must be a right.”
Senior officials, dignitaries, and heads of MS institutions, including Vice Chairperson Nuzhat Khan, Managing Directors Anwar Ahmed and Dr. Moazzam Hussain, congratulated him, describing the honour as a proud moment for the MS community and a recognition of his lifelong service to education and society.
