Nagpur, July 5: RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat has demanded strict punishment for those involved in the alleged Ram Temple donation theft case, saying the incident has hurt the sentiments of millions of devotees.
Speaking at the inauguration of the Sanmarg Mind Wellness programme in Nagpur on Sunday, Bhagwat said the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh stands by the statement issued earlier by RSS General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale. He said those responsible for the alleged misappropriation of donations to the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirtha Kshetra Trust should face stringent punishment.
Bhagwat also appealed to devotees to remain patient and maintain restraint. He urged the Hindu community not to be influenced by attempts to exploit the controversy to create divisions or tarnish the image of Hindu society.
During the same event, Bhagwat highlighted the importance of mental health. He said physical illness often affects mental well being and stressed that a peaceful mind is essential for overall health.
He added that India’s traditional knowledge systems, including Yoga Vasishtam and Patanjali Yoga Sutras, offer valuable insights into mental discipline. He called for greater academic research into these traditions.
