Musi River International Festival inaugurated
Hyderabad, Jan 24 (Maxim News): Award winning Indian and International film on Water, Biodiversity and Wildlife will be screened. The theme of the film festival and forum is ‘Water for Life’ and is dedicated to Rivers. The purpose of these screening is to motivate, engaged and educate students & citizens about the environmental issues. These films and film a festival is used as a medium to catalyse change, in school student’s perception and responsibility toward their environment.
The program was inaugurated by P. Satyanarayana Reddy, Member Secretary TS Pollution Control Board here on Tuesday at TSPCB Auditorium.
He addressed the students by saying that it is the responsibility of the students to work for better environment if not in future they have to hardships to survive, one should use only the materials which are easily decomposed/eco-friendly in their day to day activities.
The movies will be screened from 23rd to 25th January 2017 at Telangana State Pollution Control Board Auditorium. The following are the movies which were screened:
Kali Bein ( The Black River): A river in Punjab which was turned into biggest dumping bin of garbage and pollutant chemical waste, with the passage of time the stream vanished and the river dead eventually. After the motivation of a Saint people evolved a novel way of self help; joined hands in thousands for the resurrection of the river and restore its restrain glory. The movie showcases the dedication and determination towards conservation of the river which inspired the students towards conservation of the River.
The other important screened movies are Pristine Water, People Ke Peepal, Peepal Baba ( One Man, 10 Million Trees), Flight to Freedom, The battle Begins, Chilka- Jewwl of Odisha, Drop by Drop ,Carry Your Own Bag, Mazha Peyyumbol (When it Rains), g2G: From Grassroots to Global.
Around 1200 School students from various schools participating in the screenings and discussions. The Musi River Festival is organised by TS PCB in Coordination with CMS VATAVARAN. (Maxim News)
