Nagam Seeks CBI Probe Into Scam In Palamuru-RR LI Project
Hyderabad, Aug.30 (Maxim News): Former minister and Congress leader Nagam Janardhan Reddy today demanded that the Chief Minister KCR recommend CBI inquiry into the irregularities committed in the construction of Palamuru Rangareddy Lift irrigation project in undivided Mahbubnagar district and take action against corrupt officials.
Nagam wrote a letter to the CM on the issue a day after KCR’s visit to the project. He listed many irregularities committed in the evaluation of the technical bids of the project by the officials of the State government. He also alleged that the works of the project were awarded to ineligible agencies leading to the slow pace of the works. He said he was pained that the CM had not visited the pump houses of the project.
Reddy alleged that the project contractor navayuga, which has secured tender packages from 1 to 16 has committed several irregularities. He alleged that the CM, who has promised to give higher compensation and government jobs to the affected farmers on June 11,2015 after laying foundation stone to the works of the project , failed to keep his promise. Citing that he too has lost his lands for the constructing of Edula reservoir, Nagam said most of the poor farmers, who have lost their lands. have not received any kind of compensation from the State government so far.
