Nagarjuna Sagar Reservoir Reaches Full Capacity, 24 Gates Lifted to Release Water
Nagarjuna Sagar, August 13: The Nagarjuna Sagar reservoir has reached its full capacity, prompting authorities to lift 24 gates to release excess water downstream.
According to officials, the inflow at the reservoir is currently 1,74,533 cusecs, while the outflow has increased to 2,33,041 cusecs. The reservoir’s full water level is 590 feet, and as of now, it stands at 589.30 feet.
The total storage capacity of the project is 312.04 TMC, and the present storage has reached 309.95 TMC, indicating near-full capacity conditions.
Authorities are closely monitoring the situation and advising people living in downstream areas to stay alert as water discharge continues.
