Narayana Withdraws Statement On Hyderabad Encounter

Hyderabad, Dec.8 (Maxim News): CPI national secretary Dr K Narayana today said he has withdrawn his previous statement on Disha murder case.

Speaking to mediapersons here on Sunday, Narayana said he was sorry for inadvertently welcoming the police encounter of four accused, who gang raped and set the victim Disha ablaze near Shamshabad. The CPI leader withdrew his statement after the CPI national executive meeting passed a resolution against the police encounter of Disha killers and opposed his comments. He said, the party executive committee found fault with my previous comment in favor of the sensational Hyderabad encounter and I tender an apology for that”, he said.

Narayana said as his party took a stand against the sensational Hyderabad encounter, he would abide by the party decision. He also said the encounter was not right as the courts alone deliver verdicts on such cases. He said, “Since my comments were against the CPI line, I withdraw it and say sorry”.

It may be mentioned here that earlier, Narayana had said his party welcomed the Hyderabad encounter. It was personal opinion and that is not right”, he added. “I will not make such comments in future”, he swore. (Maxim News)
