Hyderabad, July 2 (Maxim News): The release of the NEET UG re exam results by the National Testing Agency (NTA) will pave the way for the counselling process for admission to MBBS and BDS courses across India.
The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will conduct the counselling for seats under the All India Quota in government and private medical colleges.
The counselling process will take place in four rounds. Eligible candidates must complete each stage within the prescribed schedule to secure admission.
NEET UG counselling process explained
In the first stage, eligible candidates must register on the official MCC website.
They must pay the prescribed non refundable counselling fee and the refundable security deposit through the online portal.
After registration, candidates must fill in their preferred medical colleges and courses in order of priority.
Experts advise students to select a larger number of choices because doing so improves their chances of securing a seat.
Next, candidates must lock their selected choices before the deadline. If they fail to do so, the system will automatically lock the submitted options after the last date.
However, candidates cannot modify their choices once they lock them.
The MCC will then allot seats through a computer based algorithm. The system will consider the candidate’s All India Rank (AIR), reservation category, availability of seats, and the preferences submitted during choice filling.
After seat allotment, candidates can download their allotment letter from the MCC portal. They must report to the allotted medical college within the stipulated time along with the allotment letter and original certificates to complete the admission process.
The MCC conducts the counselling process every year to fill MBBS and BDS seats under the All India Quota. Candidates should regularly check the official MCC website for the counselling schedule, seat matrix, and other important updates.
