New Scheme To Eradicate Poverty In Telangana: Minister Seethakka
Mulugu/Hyderabad, Feb 6 (Maxim News): Minister Seethakka announced that a new scheme will be launched to eradicate poverty in Telangana. She said that this scheme is being designed following the ‘Kutumbasri’ model implemented in the state of Kerala.
She said that 65 thousand extremely poor people have been identified through a survey in Kerala and have been brought out of poverty. She explained that in Telangana too, a survey will be conducted through women’s self-help groups in the same manner and those living in extreme poverty will be identified.
Seethakka said that after the survey, assistance will be provided to each family according to their needs. She said that even if there is a financial burden on the government, they will take initiative. In addition, she said that they will take the cooperation of donors, voluntary organizations, other organizations, and the wealthy.
She announced that guidelines will be formulated soon and the program will be implemented. She said that women’s groups are already being strengthened. Minister Seethakka clarified that the government’s goal is to make Telangana a poverty-free state through this new scheme. (Maxim News)
