Hyderabad, Dec 26 (Maxim News): Chief Minister Revanth Reddy Sarkar announced the constitution of a cabinet sub-committee for addressing the film industry issues.

The decision to this effect was taken during Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s meeting with the film industry personalities here on Thursday. During the one-hour meeting, a host of issues were discussed by the Chief Minister.

He also wanted the film personalities to constitute a committee to address the issues faced by the industry. Like IT and pharma, the Chief Minister stressed that the film industry was equally important for the government. “We have decided to create a brand for the Telugu industry and want to develop it further,” he said.

The film personalities had shared the issues pertaining to the industry. Dil Raju was appointed as Film Development Corporation Chairman to serve as a bridge between the industry and the government. The State government had issued special GOs for eight movies and permission was also issued for the Pushpa-2 event at police ground, he said.

The Chief Minister announced that measures were being taken to get Hollywood and Bollywood to Hyderabad. An International Conference is being planned in the city to draw the attention of other film industries, he said.

Reminding that Congress governments had always promoted and extended all support to the film industry, Revanth Reddy as the Chief Minister had the responsibility of ensuring law and order in the State.

I do not have any personal say in such matters,” Revanth Reddy said, instructing the film personalities to promote awareness campaigns on drug abuse and other social issues.

He assured that the Congress government would continue all support to the industry and said plans were being made to take the Telugu film industry to the next level. (Maxim News)
