Hyderabad, Oct.12 (NSS): G Niranjan, Congress party senior vice-president and Official Spokesperson and Advocate M Ramachandra Reddy have written to Rajiv Kumar, IAS, Chief Election Commissioner of India, complaining about the highhanded acts of BJP miscreants, who vandalised and set fire to Congress party office in Chandur Mandal, 93-Munugode Assembly Constituency and sought action against inactive police.
They complained to the CEC about the highhanded acts of BJP miscreants, who burnt Congress party office at Chandur Mandal in Munugode Assembly Constituency on the night of October 10 completely damaging the campaign material, files and party flags with a sole motive to demoralise the party cadre and to disappoint them during this election campaigning.
The BJP miscreants, with active instigation of their leaders and in violation of the election code, disturbed public peace and tranquillity by adopting illegal practices and trying to divert the attention of Congress party cadre and leaders from election campaign and causing loss to party which is an offence under criminal laws. Though the situation remained tense, the police of Nalgonda district could not anticipate the upcoming illegal acts and could not take preventive measures in protecting the Congress party office and property. The Nalgonda police also utterly failed to take necessary action against the culprits, who indulged in the incident. Taking advantage of this, the BJP and TRS cadre were planning to repeat the same in near future.
In this context, the Congress party senior vice-president requested the CEC to take stern action against the police who failed to protect the property of the Congress party. He requested the CEC to direct the Nalgonda SP to provide protection to the Congress party offices, leaders and cadre from the BJP and TRS miscreants. (NSS)
