BJP sources indicated that the party will appoint one Deputy Chief Minister, and the central leadership will soon announce the name. The discussions also decided to maintain an almost equal balance in key portfolios between the JDU and the BJP. This arrangement is expected to strengthen coordination between the two alliance partners in their upcoming government.

The new NDA government is likely to take oath within the next three days. The swearing-in ceremony is expected to be held on Wednesday or Thursday, depending on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s schedule. Reports suggest that top leaders including Union ministers, Chief Ministers, and Deputy Chief Ministers from NDA-ruled states will attend the event. The BJP is expected to secure 15 or 16 ministerial positions, while the JDU will get around 14. Smaller allies such as Chirag Paswan’s Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) could receive three posts, whereas Jitan Ram Manjhi’s Hindustani Awam Morcha and Upendra Kushwaha’s Rashtriya Lok Samata Party are each likely to get one berth.

Meanwhile, the NDA coalition’s performance in the Bihar elections ensured a decisive victory. The BJP emerged as the single largest party by winning 89 seats, followed by the JDU with 85 seats. The smaller allies, including LJP(RV), HAM, and RLM, also secured notable success, further consolidating the NDA’s majority in the state. With political clarity now emerging, Bihar looks set for a smooth transition into the new NDA-led government under Nitish Kumar’s continued leadership.
