Nizamabad LS seat, CEC, CEO Enter Country Book Of World Records
Hyderabad, May 31 (Maxim News): Nizamabad parliamentary constituency in Telangana has created a new record with highest number of candidates entered fray in the recent Parliament General Elections. The Election Commission of India (ECI) and Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Telangana State created another record by successfully organizing elections in the Nizamabad constituency.
The Country Book of World Records (France) approved these records and sent letters to Nizamabad parliamentary constituency elected representative and Election Commission of India, stated Kondaveeti Murali, India-Chief and Incharge of Help Desk of Country Book of World Records in a pressnote here today.
He also said first of its kind in the history of India, 175 farmers/candidates contested for member of Parliament of Nizamabad constituency as independent candidates and not as candidates from any political party in their support in this General Elections held on April 11, 2019. The 185 candidates necessitated 12 Ballot Units, 1,788 polling stations and additional VVPATS in polling stations with over 1,200 electors. The total electorate of the constituency was 25 lakh.
There were 25,000 Ballot Units, 2,000 control units and 20,000 VVPATS and 600 engineers and 2,000 election personnel were involved in completing the task in just three days using 15 halls with 149 tables and phenomenally low failure rate of 0.27% for Bus, 0.67% for CUs and 1.62% for VVPATS for actual poll, Murali added.
The Country Book of World Records was planning to present records through the President of India and Prime Minister shortly, he said. (Maxim News)
