No New Work: Implement The Election Code

Hyderabad, Sept 30 (Maxim News): Keeping in view the Local Body Elections in the state, the model code of conduct came into effect. The State Election Commission (SEC) has issued orders directing the collectors of the respective districts to strictly implement the model code in the remaining districts except Hyderabad, Medchal and Malkajgiri.

According to the Model Code of Conduct, there is a ban on transfer and postings of officials directly or indirectly related to the conduct of elections. If any officer feels that the transfer is necessary, prior permission must be obtained

Loudspeakers should not be used in coded areas. processions and public meetings should not be held.

Ministers and other officials should not announce any financial grants or promises related to new schemes or projects. Foundation stones should not be laid. Ministers should not use official machinery and vehicles.

Any officer or staff member who meets the Ministere should be considered to have violated the service rules as mentioned in Section 218 of the Telangana Panchayat Raj Act 2018 and disciplinary action should be taken.

Ministers and other officials shall not sanction grants/payments from discretionary funds from the time of announcement of elections.

Once the housing scheme is approved and work begins, the beneficiaries should receive assistance as per the rules. No new construction should provide assistance undertaken or assistance should be sanctioned to new beneficiaries until the elections are over.

If job card holders demand work after the elections are announced, they can be provided with work under the employment guarantee in the ongoing work. No new work should be started.

In the event of drought, floods, pestilence, or other natural disasters, the government should provide assistance to the affected people with the approval of the SEC. (Maxim News)
