No Petrol Or LPG Shortage In Telangana, Clarify Oil Companies

Hyderabad, May 19 (Maxim News): Public sector Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) have reassured consumers that there is no shortage of petrol, diesel, or LPG across Telangana despite rumours circulating on social media and other platforms. Officials confirmed that fuel stocks are sufficient and supply chains are functioning normally throughout the state.

According to OMC representatives, Telangana has actually witnessed a significant increase in fuel consumption during the first half of the month. Petrol sales reportedly rose by 14.2 percent, while diesel demand increased by 15.7 percent compared to usual levels.

State-level officials coordinating fuel distribution said oil companies are continuously monitoring stock availability and transportation systems to ensure uninterrupted delivery to fuel stations.

They stated that the higher demand is linked to seasonal movement of vehicles, increased transportation activities, and regular market trends. To handle the rise efficiently, OMCs have strengthened logistics operations and accelerated fuel dispatches to retail outlets across urban and rural regions.

Officials emphasized that depots and petrol pumps currently have adequate fuel reserves and consumers need not panic over rumours of shortages.

LPG Cylinder Deliveries Continue Normally

Oil companies also clarified that domestic LPG supplies remain unaffected in Telangana. Contrary to speculation about cylinder shortages, officials revealed that LPG bookings have slightly declined this month due to extreme summer temperatures, which typically reduce household usage.

So far in May, more than 20 lakh domestic LPG cylinders have been delivered across the state, which officials described as normal seasonal demand.

Authorities further stated that there has been no unusual rush for LPG bookings and that distribution networks are operating without disruption.

Consumers Encouraged to Use Online Booking Services

To improve convenience and delivery efficiency, OMCs advised consumers to use digital booking options for LPG cylinders. Facilities such as SMS booking, IVRS services, missed call booking, and online platforms are available for customers across Telangana.

Officials said these digital systems are helping streamline operations and ensure quicker deliveries to households.

Oil Companies Push for Full DAC Implementation

OMCs also urged consumers to cooperate with the Delivery Authentication Code (DAC) system, an OTP-based verification process introduced to prevent misuse and diversion of LPG cylinders.

According to officials, Telangana has already achieved over 95 percent implementation of the DAC mechanism, and efforts are ongoing to achieve complete compliance statewide.

Public Urged Not to Trust Rumours

Oil companies appealed to the public not to believe false information related to fuel or LPG shortages. Consumers were advised to rely only on official announcements and verified sources for updates regarding petroleum products and supply services.
