Preliminary findings suggest that either a technical fault or human error during shunting operations may have caused the derailment. However, railway officials said a detailed technical investigation is underway before confirming the exact reason.

Restoration and repair work continued through the night. Railway engineers inspected the damaged coaches and tracks, while a technical team began preparing a detailed report on the incident.

The derailment comes amid a series of recent railway incidents across the country. Earlier on Monday, a coach of the Sasaram Patna fast passenger train caught fire at Sasaram railway station in Bihar. Officials suspected a short circuit caused the blaze.

On Sunday, two rear coaches of the Delhi bound Rajdhani Express caught fire near Kota in Rajasthan. Railway officials safely evacuated passengers and disconnected the Overhead Equipment power supply to prevent further damage.
