Telangana SIR notices to 92 lakh voters
The election authorities said about 92 lakh voters remain in the unmapped category. The authorities will issue notices to these voters as part of the verification process.
The state also has about 73 lakh voters listed under the ASB category. ASB refers to absent, shifted and duplicate entries.
Officials will send notices through Booth Level Officers and post. Voters who receive notices will have time until September 16 to respond.
The authorities said the enumeration process covered 78.03 percent of voters in the state. The figure reflects voters whose enumeration details were processed during the exercise.
Meanwhile, voters who find that their names are missing from the draft list can apply through Form 6A, according to the State Election Officer.
The latest draft list marks another stage in the state’s SIR exercise. The notice process will now allow authorities and voters to address disputed or unverified entries.
Voters who receive notices can submit the required response within the specified deadline. The election authorities will then consider the information provided during the verification process.
The exercise is aimed at updating voter records and addressing entries that fall under categories requiring further verification.
The State Election Office has urged voters to check the draft list and take necessary action if their names or details require correction. (Maxim News)
